Create custom roles with freely chosen rights (Premium)
If the standard catalog is not enough, you create your own roles or copy a standard role and adapt it.

Prerequisites
- You are the leadership of the club.
- The club has Premium (feature “Custom roles for offices”).
Who may do this?
Only the leadership (permission “Assign roles”) and only with Premium may create, change and copy roles. Viewing the roles and the rights matrix and deleting always remain possible. For people without the right the page is not visible (“Roles are visible to the leadership only”).
Step by step
Open the roles
In club life (view “Leadership”) under “Offices and honors” open “Roles and rights”. The “Standard roles” are at the top, “Custom roles” below.
Create a new role
Click “New role”. Enter a name (for example equipment manager or festival committee), optionally a description, and tick at least one right under “Rights”.
Or copy a standard role
On a standard role choose “Copy”. The copy appears under “Custom roles”; adapt it with “Edit”.
Check the rights matrix
The “Rights matrix” shows with ticks (“included” / “not included”) which role contains which right. Anyone with several roles gets all their rights.
Give the role to an office
Assign the role to the office in the office administration under “Give roles (optional)” (see the article “Assign offices and roles”).
Delete a role
Choose “Delete” and confirm. This only works if no office gives the role anymore; a counter (“… offices”) shows how many still depend on it.

Common errors and solutions
- “Available with Premium.”
- Creating, changing and copying custom roles is part of Premium. Roles already created stay effective, viewable and deletable after a downgrade.
- “Please choose at least one right.”
- Tick at least one right in the edit dialog.
- “A role with this name already exists.”
- Choose another name.
- “This role is still assigned to offices. First remove it from the offices.”
- Remove the role in the offices named and then delete it.
- “You do not hold this right directly yourself and therefore cannot grant it.”
- You can only grant rights you hold directly yourself.
Good to know
- Deleting and assigning roles are in no role and stay with the leadership.
- Up to 50 custom roles per organization are possible; name and description are stored encrypted.
- Rights from roles apply only in this organization and are not passed on to sub-units.
