Dispute a takeover: how it works

If a pre-filled club or association was taken over wrongly, you file a dispute; the previous administration must prove itself again.

Cet article n’est pour l’instant disponible qu’en allemand et en anglais ; nous affichons la version anglaise.

Prérequis

  • Signed in with a confirmed email address, adult account, not the owner of the organization.
  • The organization comes from pre-filling and was taken over; the takeover was at most 365 days ago.

Qui peut le faire ?

Any signed-in adult with a confirmed email can file a dispute. Only the owner can prove themselves again as the current administration – not admin or moderator. There is no manual review by the operator in the standard path.

Pas à pas

  1. Open a dispute

Open “Dispute takeover” on the club or association page (“If the page was taken over wrongly.”). Choose a fixed reason (not authorized, outdated contact details or other) and accept the data processing agreement and the terms.

  2. Prove yourself

Prove yourself through a remaining channel: code to an address on the club’s domain, proof on the club’s website, or via an umbrella association.

  3. Waiting period

With the first passed proof, a waiting period of 14 days starts. The previous administration receives a notification and an email (without the disputing person’s name) and a reminder three days before the deadline.

  4. Owner proves again

The current owner opens “Prove again now” and passes the proof. The dispute is then dismissed and everything stays as it was.

  5. Handover

If they do not, administration passes after the deadline to the party that passed a proof (if several: whoever was first). All former leadership roles become “Member”; both sides are notified.

Erreurs fréquentes et solutions

“Nothing to dispute here” / “A dispute is not possible here”
The organization was not taken over from pre-filling, you are not signed in, or your email is unconfirmed.
“Only the owner can prove themselves.”
Ask the owner to provide the proof themselves.
A new dispute is not possible.
After a dismissed dispute the organization rests for 30 days; at most one round runs per organization.

Bon à savoir

  • For associations and for several disputes against the same organization (three within 30 days), platform moderation also receives a notice; abuse leads to account suspension.
  • During the waiting period the previous administration can continue to edit the organization; there is no lock for this.
