Forgot your password: set a new one

You receive a link by email to set a new password; it is valid for one hour and works only once.

AccountBasic (free)Checked on 30.10.2026

Prerequisites

  • Access to the email inbox (or mobile number) that belongs to your account

Who may do this?

Anyone can request a reset for their own account. The answer is always the same, so nobody can find out who has an account.

Step by step

  1. Request the link

On the sign-in page choose “Forgot your password?”, enter the “Email or mobile number” of your account and choose “Request link”.

  2. Open the email

If an account exists for that detail, we sent a reset link. It is valid for one hour and works exactly once. Open the whole link – some email programs break long links.

  3. Set a new password

Enter a password of at least 12 characters under “New password”, repeat it under “Repeat password” and choose “Save password”.

  4. Sign in again

All other sessions are ended during the reset. Sign in with the new password.

You can find the feature here: /passwort-vergessen

Common errors and solutions

No email arrives.
Check your spam folder and try again in a few minutes (“Resend link” or “Enter a different address”).
“Link no longer valid”
The link has expired or was already used. Choose “Request a new link”.
“Link incomplete”
Open the full link from the email or request a new one.

Good to know

  • A lost passkey cannot be bypassed with “Forgot your password?”; it is removed in the process and you create a new one.
  • For a two-factor account without a phone and without backup codes we cannot simply unlock the account for security reasons – write to us via the support form.
