Join a club or group (request, open, follow)

Depending on the joining type you join at once, submit a request or need an invitation – or you just follow.

MembershipBasic (free)Checked on 30.10.2026

Prerequisites

  • You are signed in (account confirmed)

Who may do this?

Any account can join or request to join on the page of a club or group. Anyone blocked for the organization cannot join. Child accounts need the “Take on memberships” permission; parents can sign their children up at any time.

Step by step

  1. Open the club page

Find the club via “Discover” or “My clubs” and open its page.

  2. Recognize the joining type

The button shows what is possible: “Join” (member right away), “Request to join” (the leadership decides) or “By invitation only”.

  3. Join or request

Choose the button. If the club has a joining form, answer the leadership’s questions (fields marked * are required) and choose “Submit”.

  4. Wait for the decision

For a request the page shows “Request pending”. You get an alert as soon as the leadership has decided. With “Withdraw join request” you take the request back.

  5. Or just follow

With “Follow” you see the page’s public posts and events without becoming a member. Members see everything the club publishes anyway.

You can find the feature here: /organisationen

Common errors and solutions

“Joining is only possible by invitation.”
Ask the leadership for an invitation (see “Accept an invitation”).
“You are blocked from joining this organization.”
The leadership has blocked you. Contact the club leadership.
“Joining did not work. Please try again in a moment.”
Check your connection and try again.
I want to join a group but not the club.
Groups of a club are only for its members: joining the group also makes you a member of the club; if you leave the club you also leave the group.

Good to know

  • Joining may cost fees; payment does not run through CLUP.life but as the club determines.
  • You sign your children up via “Sign up child” (see “Sign children up for a club”).
