Extend a fixed-term membership

If your membership ends automatically (for example with the school year), we remind you 30 days ahead and you can extend with one click.

MembershipBasic (free)Checked on 30.10.2026

Prerequisites

  • The club turned on “Fixed-term membership” and you joined afterwards (or the leadership set an end date)

Who may do this?

Every active member sees and extends their own end date. Leadership and owners never have an automatic end. For child accounts the leadership extends.

Step by step

  1. Find the notice

On the club page it says “Your membership ends on …”. You also get an alert 30 days ahead.

  2. Extend

Choose “Extend until …”. The membership continues to the next cut-off date as long as the fixed term is enabled.

  3. Do not extend

If you do nothing, you are signed out automatically after the end date – as with leaving. You can rejoin at any time.

You can find the feature here: /organisationen

Common errors and solutions

“This membership cannot be extended on your own. Please talk to the leadership.”
The membership is, for example, coupled to your child’s membership or was set with a fixed date by the leadership.
“The end date has already passed.”
The membership has ended; join the club again.

Good to know

  • If your membership is coupled to your child’s, it ends 30 days after the child leaves; you are notified immediately.
  • The purpose is data minimization: someone who is no longer there is not kept as an active member. With the end, your data in the club is tidied up as with leaving.
