My data and who sees it
An overview of all details about you – with the setting for who may see them.
VisibilityBasic (free)Checked on 30.10.2026
Prerequisites
- You are signed in
Who may do this?
You alone decide about details concerning your person. A club can only narrow them, never open them wider. Public on the internet is possible only for adults with consent; children at most “All members”, never public – the parents decide that.
Step by step
Open the page
Open “Settings → My data” (“My data and who sees it”).
Review the blocks
The blocks include “My profile”, “My contact details”, “My birthday” (day and month), “My memberships”, “My awards and honors”, “My posts” and “My activities and participation”. Each one says who sees it.
Choose a level
Set each detail to a level: only you, your connections (only people you are connected with), members of your clubs and groups, signed-in users or – with consent – public on the internet. Changes take effect immediately.
Narrow per membership
Under “Per membership” you narrow visibility per club, association, group or municipality. The narrower setting always applies.
Public only with consent
To make something public on the internet you confirm “I consent to this detail being visible publicly on the internet”. If you withdraw the consent, anything public is immediately reduced to “All signed-in users”.
You can find the feature here: /einstellungen/meine-daten
Common errors and solutions
- “Saving failed.”
- Try again; check your connection.
- My parents decide this (“Your parents decide this.”)
- For child accounts the setting is with the parents; you only see what is set.
Good to know
- Without your decision, most is private. Every change is logged.
- The participant list of an event is shown by the event leader only to those they share it with; it never appears publicly on the internet.
- Discoverability in search, online status and consents you set under “Privacy”, who can write to you under “Communication”.
