  • You are signed in
  • For a direct message: a connection in your network or someone who may write to you

Qui peut le faire ?

You decide who may write to you under “Settings → Communication”. Blocked people and people outside your selection cannot start a conversation with you. Child accounts need the “Write messages” permission.

Pas à pas

  1. Open Chats

Choose “Chats”. On the left are all conversations (direct, club, group), on the right you read and write. “Search messages” searches all conversations.

  2. Start a conversation

In “My network → My connections” choose “Write a message to …” for a person, or on the home page choose “New message” and pick a person from your network.

  3. Write a message

Type your text in “Write a message”. Enter sends, Shift+Enter makes a new line, with @ you mention someone.

  4. More than text

With “More” you attach files, record a voice message, create a “Poll” or propose an “Event”. Via the menu on a message you reply, forward, copy, edit (only your own, only for 15 minutes after sending) or delete it with “Delete for everyone”.

  5. Get some quiet

With “Mute conversation” (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or permanently) you no longer get notifications; the messages stay in the list.

Erreurs fréquentes et solutions

“Messages to this person are not possible.”
The person does not allow messages from you (setting, block or a restricted chat for a child account). For privacy reasons the message does not give the reason.
“This message is older than 15 minutes and can no longer be edited.”
Delete the message and write it again.
“The message could not be sent.”
Check your connection; attachments have size and type limits.

Bon à savoir

  • Messages are stored encrypted on the server but not end-to-end encrypted, so that reported content can be reviewed. A reported or deleted message stays stored until the retention period ends, without being displayed.
  • For photos and MP4 videos the recording location is removed.
